CALL FOR SPEAKERS


Be part of the excitement at the 2023 CALI Annual Conference! The California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) is looking for experienced and engaging industry professionals to share their knowledge and expertise with CALI members and other PI colleagues at our 54th Annual Conference, August 24-26, 2023, in Sonoma Wine Country, California.

What We’re Looking For 
To ensure attendees receive the best event experience possible, we are looking for experienced industry professionals to share their knowledge and expertise to cover various subjects of the investigative profession and expertise. The desired topics of interest include:

  • Accident Investigations
  • Background Investigations
  • Criminal Defense Investigations
  • Civil Investigations
  • Computer Forensics
  • Deep/Dark Web Investigations 
  • Fraud Investigations
  • Insurance Claims Investigations /Subrosa /AOE COE
  • Missing Person Cases
  • Process Serving
  • Social Media Investigations

Don't see your topic listed above? Submit a proposal! We welcome proposals on other topics related to the PI industry.

Format & Session Length
Breakout educational sessions are typically offered as 1-hour sessions, including Q&A. Allotted session time may be extended to 75 minutes.

Submission Process
To be considered for a speaking opportunity, please fill out the CALI Speaker Proposal Form by clicking the button below. All proposals must be submitted electronically using the CALI Speaker Proposal Form. Proposals with missing information will be considered incomplete and not be processed for review. We recommend downloading the Speaker Proposal Guide to help gather information before submitting your presentation proposal online.

Selection Criteria 
Once the Call for Speakers submission period closes, the CALI Conference Committee will review all speaker proposals based on the following criteria:

Content & Organization – Provides a clear description of high quality content, including session title.
Participant Objectives – Clearly defines participant learning objectives.
Experience – The speaker's expertise and knowledge of the subject matter.
Timeliness of Topic – Addresses a current issue relevant to the PI industry.

Applicants may be contacted by a CALI Conference Committee member for a phone interview or if further information is needed from the speaker regarding their proposal.

Important Dates and Deadlines*
Friday, November 18, 2022 – Call for Speakers Opens.
Friday, December 23, 2022  – Call for Speakers Closes at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time).
Friday, January 27, 2023 – Conference Speaker Committee will notify all applicants of their decision.
