The California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) is seeking dynamic, experienced industry professionals to share their expertise at our premier event, the CALI Annual Conference, October 8–10, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Golf Resort Palm Springs. We are also accepting proposals for our Professional Development events held throughout the year.

We invite experts in investigations, legal compliance, technology, and related fields to submit presentation proposals by March 27, 2026. Selected presenters will have the opportunity to connect with licensed private investigators and industry partners, enhance their professional visibility, and contribute to advancing the private investigation profession.

What We’re Looking for in Presenters

To provide attendees with an exceptional event experience, we invite seasoned industry professionals to share their expertise and facilitate insightful discussions on topics relevant to investigative work. The topics below are provided to guide your proposal, but we also welcome additional ideas. PI-related topics include, but are not limited to:

Presentations must be educational. No sales pitches will be accepted.

Submission Process

To be considered for a speaking opportunity, please fill out the CALI Speaker Proposal Form by clicking the button below. All proposals must be submitted electronically using the CALI Speaker Proposal Form. Proposals with missing information will be considered incomplete and will not be processed for review.



Submission Deadline: March 27, 2026

Selection Criteria 

Submissions will be reviewed by a group consisting of the CALI Conference Committee and the CALI Professional Development Committee, using the criteria below to ensure that program content is timely, relevant, and aligned with attendees’ needs.

Content & Organization – Provides a clear description of high quality content, including the session title.

Participant Objectives – Clearly define participant learning with actionable takeaways. 

Experience – The speaker's expertise and knowledge of the subject matter.

Timeliness of Topic – Addresses a current issue relevant to the PI industry.


Invitations to potential speakers will be emailed on or after April 7, 2026.

Potential speakers may be contacted by a CALI Committee member for a phone interview or to request additional information about their proposal. 

We will keep all presentations and speaker information on file for future consideration if a presentation is not selected for this year's program.


CALI Speaker Benefits 

Speakers are responsible for their own travel and hotel accommodations. Although CALI does not offer financial compensation for speaking at its events, speakers receive complimentary event registration and valuable benefits, including prominent exposure in event marketing materials, exceptional networking opportunities, and increased professional visibility within the industry.
